The first weekend of the September school holidays saw 12 eager Under 9 players and their families descend in Proserpine for a weekend of footy set behind cane fields – and what a carnival it was!

Our 2021 U9 team consisted of regular U9 players and we were very fortunate to have a couple of players help the team out over the two days, adding power and skill to our side.

Even though the Paul Bowman Challenge is now non-competitive, our little team won eight games and drew one. Families were very impressed with the organisation of the carnival and the set up. The weather was amazing and the atmosphere was one of fun and support. There really was some excellent footy played, and the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Our players and families embodied true Wanderers spirit. Wanderers pride ourselves on being a family-friendly and welcoming club and this spirit underpinned our experience at Paul Bowman. Players and families alike are looking forward to 2022 and Gorden Tallis in Townsville!
